The Mulkadee Youth Arts Festival is the only event of its kind in Australia, offering a week-long program of artistic workshops led by professional instructors in the areas of choir, dance, drama, band, guitar and strings.

More than 1,000 students (Years 4-12) and teachers from Catholic schools throughout the Townsville Diocese participated in workshops, culminating in a concert at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre.  Children from rural and remote based schools travelled to Townsville for this week-long event. Students were exposed to professional training, over and above the school curriculum.

In 2020, we will, once again, be performing a new take on a beloved children's story. Mulkadee Youth Arts Festival through Townsville Catholic Education proudly presents: The Wizard of Oz.

Tutorials and the final concert will all be held at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre. Mulkadee focuses on the Arts and gives students the opportunity to be involved with great tutors who are experts in their field. Students also get the opportunity to meet and work with other students from across our diocese.

The date for this year’s Mulkadee is JULY 20 - 24, 2020 (including a concert on the Friday night). The students participate each day in workshops and tutorials. They will be fully supervised at all times. As noted on the Registration Form, this is a full week event and there is an expectation that all students attend each day and the Friday evening performance. NB: In the event of illness or unavoidable medical appointments, your school Mulkadee representative must be contacted by 8.30am. When completing the registration form, you MUST agree to the terms and conditions.
