UK Rugby Union Tour
IPC currently offers players the opportunity to develop their rugby skills and experience the sport at a number of different levels. As part of this players are afforded the opportunity to experience other cultures by touring overseas. Tours consist of both a cultural and game portion with past tours traveling to the UK, Rome, Southern Ireland, Belgium and France.
Current tours travel to Paris and onto the Somme battlefields where the boys visit the graves of brave Townsville soldiers who did not return from WW1. From here they travel to the UK and Ireland to experience other cultures through home stays and by visiting many historical sites in between playing five games of Rugby Union. Games challenge the team and expose them to different styles and levels of play. As a culmination of the rugby program at IPC, the UK Tour has proven to be an opportunity of a lifetime that changes the attitudes of young men for the better.
