Every Row Counts Challenge
Every Row Counts Challenge
4th November 2021
Tomorrow, three players from the Townsville Blackhawks will visit Ignatius Park College to participate in a rowing event for charity.
The school has organised a rowing challenge on stationary rowing ergos throughout the week, with the final round being held on Friday. The special guests of Kalifa FaiFai Loa (NZ Test International), Moses Meninga (PNG Test International) and Edene Gebbie (PNG Test International) will get sweaty competing on their own ergo machine in Friday’s finals. Blackhawks Development Officer, Tim Nugent, will also be in attendance.
The Every Row Counts Challenge will raise funds for the Edmund Rice Camps, which is now in its 30th year in 2021. Edmund Rice Camps is a not-for-profit organisation, providing recreational activities for children, youth and families who may not otherwise have those opportunities.
The Challenge will see a team of five rowers per house compete in a relay for 5km per day. The goal for the school is to row 250km over the five days, raising much-needed funds for the Edmund Rice Camps charity.
The event kicks off at 12.30pm Friday 5 November at Ignatius Park College.
