Sustainability Week

3rd March 2021

This week is Sustainability Week.

Atticus D’Mello, Gospel Spirituality Prefect and Andrew Edmunds, Justice and Solidarity Prefect are working with College teachers and students to implement the very first Sustainability Week at Ignatius Park College.

The College is already an eco-friendly school, having implemented several initiatives to help reduce our footprint on the planet.

The school has recycling bins throughout the school, specifically for plastic bottles and recyclable cans. The cans and bottles are returned for cash and the funds go directly to the charity, Caritas Australia.

All students and staff are encouraged to bring ‘nude food’, meaning food without packaging.

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
