UNIFORM REGULATIONS

The Ignatius Park College community has worked very hard over many years to instil in students a sense of pride and respect. The quality and presentation of a student’s uniform plays a key role in instilling these values. The College uniform must be worn correctly by students both at school, and whilst travelling to and from school.

Correct Uniform: If at any time a student cannot wear the correct uniform they must carry a note from their parents.

 Hat

  1. The College hat is a compulsory piece of the uniform and must be in your son’s possession at break time. The College hat must be worn at all times during recess and lunch breaks as well as to and from school.
  2. The College hat must have its white internal band intact with your son’s name on it.

 Formal Uniform

  1. The Formal Uniform must be worn on Thursdays and days where Physical Education is not timetabled. Socks must be worn up, at all times, most importantly the shirt must be tucked in at all times.
  2. In previous years the College has offered elastic waistband shorts for Years 7-9. In 2022, the College will be transitioning all students to wearing belted shorts only (previously only
worn in Years 10-12). The belted short, worn with a belt, is the mandatory formal uniform for all year levels.
  3. Black dress shoes with laces are the only shoes to be worn with the formal uniform. (Black skate shoes and black suede shoes are not acceptable.) Black dress shoes are identifiable by a visible heel.

 Sports Uniform

Only the complete sports uniform may be worn.

  • House shirt.
  • School shorts. (No other shorts).
  • White sports sock which must finish above the ankle. White Socks, with either IPC branding or commercial logo (i.e. Nike) are acceptable as long as they are white in colour.
  • A laced up running shoe, below the ankle. (No slip on / Skate shoes).

 Winter Jumper

  1. Only the formal school jumper is acceptable.
  2. In Year 12, students may wear a Senior Jersey. It must be removed for Assembly or formal occasions.

 Jewellery

No jewellery is permitted except a watch and a thin gold or silver chain. A Christian religious emblem may be worn on the chain. No piercing of any type is allowed.

 VET Uniform

  1. Students must wear VET Uniform in VET classes for Year 11 and 12.

HAIR

Blade 2 (6mm) is the shortest blade acceptable for hair cuts.

  1. Hair must be washed regularly.
  2. Hairstyles which draw attention to the student will not be permitted. This includes ‘afro’ hairstyles, dreadlocks, mullets, rats tails, undercuts, and shaving patterns of any form. No dramatic changes of length are acceptable.
  3. If hair is coloured it must be a natural colour. Streaks/tips or bleached hair are not permitted.
  4. Hair must be out of the eyes and must not touch the collar, ponytails, headbands or clips are not allowed.
  5. No facial hair is allowed.
  6. It is a requirement that all students’ hair should be kept clean and well-groomed at all times.

In the case of a breach of the above regulations, the following consequences will be observed:

  1. Students returning to school after a holiday break with inappropriate hair will be given time to correct under the direction of Pastoral Leader.

  4. All consequences refer to the first offence. A student who is a repeat offender in this area may face more
  5. Severe consequences. This will be at the discretion of the Director of Students.

 TATTOOS

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
