CONGRATULATIONS!
I am pleased to announce Dylan Thomson as the 2023 Defence Student Representative.
The Defence Student Representative (DSR) is a Year 12 student with a parent or carer who is an active serving member of the Australian Defence Force. Dylan will be a friendly face in the yard for new ADF students to our college, can buddy up with our younger students and will assist in significant events like Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.
Dylan formally applied for this position outlining his leadership suitability, describing the significance of Anzac Day and how the school's touchstones resonate with him and his ideologies around being a Defence Family.
Dylan believes the spirit of Anzac encompasses the values of never giving up, mate-ship, loyalty, and a good sense of humour. He empathises with the demands of a defence life and how challenging it can be at times. Dylan has already begun the enlistment process to join the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) post-Year 12 and is looking forward to becoming an Officer in the future.
