Touch Football
The Ignatius Park College Touch Football Program is highly regarded within Townsville, North Queensland and Queensland due to the consistent success our teams have achieved over the last 20 plus years, the opportunities we provide to developing players and the positive attitude with which we conduct ourselves on and off the field.
The program prides itself on inclusivity. We enter multiple teams in each division at local competitions due to massive levels of interest and participation from students and staff of IPC. We have numerous teams from Under 13s, Under 15s to Under 18s represent the College in the Townsville Secondary School Sport Interschool ‘Block’ Sport and both the North Queensland and Queensland All Schools Touch Football Championships. IPC Touch also endeavours to attend any other suitable tournaments and/or championships.
The Queensland All Schools Touch Football Championships is the pinnacle for Touch Football and Ignatius Park College sends an Under 13s, Under 15s and Under 18s team to fight it out with 420 other state, interstate and international teams for bragging rights. In 2016 and 2019, IPC was named as a Super 6 School, which is a phenomenal achievement for a single sex College only sending 3 teams. The Super 6 is a recognition of the six highest performing schools at the Qld All Schools. This is a testament to the depth of player development at the College across multiple age groups. All IPC Touch teams are in the mix with the best in the state and are consistently battling away on finals day every year at the Qld All Schools. This legacy has been developed over 20 years and has seen some fantastic results along the way. Below is a list of our greatest achievements in the Blue and White.
Touch is a sport for all and the skills learnt can be applied across many other sporting codes. Many athletes have come out of the IPC Touch Program to represent NQ, QLD and Australia for Touch Football and some even go on to play in the NRL.

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
