Seven Houses, One Home.

“Seven Houses, One Home” is the Ignatius Park College theme for 2024. This theme has been developed by the 2024 Year 12 group, with a focus on continuing to unite an already close-knit community. When the phrase "Seven Houses, One Home" is used within a school context, it refers to a system in which the school organises students into different houses. Each house comes to be a smaller, more tightly knit community within the larger school. Despite being divided into these houses, the idea is that all students and staff within the school are a part of one larger school community or a "home". It emphasizes the sense of unity and belonging in the school, even with the presence of different houses.

The Book of Proverbs reminds us that wisdom brings light and hope. Wisdom represents the builder; one who builds with a plan and purpose and who has a house that is secure, comfortable, hospitable, and a sanctuary for all. When a house has these elements it will be a place where strength and knowledge grow through our wisdom and understanding that radiates to others.

 Proverbs 24:3-4

"By wisdom, a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge, its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
