Welcome from College Captain

Nicholas Rowan - College Captain

Welcome to Ignatius Park College’s 54th year.

To be elected by my peers in the College Captain role for 2023, and to have the opportunity to work with my fellow seniors and lead this school that I love so dearly, is truly humbling.

Originally founded by the Christian Brothers in the Edmund Rice tradition, the College strives to provide our young men of tomorrow with a quality education. Iggy ensures everyone has the chance to express their interests, and creates an environment in which all students can find and explore new passions. It is the support of our community that makes this possible.

Every member of the extended IPC community is valued, and actively works together to encourage our young men to pursue their goals and ambitions. We believe that it is through this that we shape young men into their best selves.

This culture has been embodied in our students throughout the entirety of our history. It is this culture, our brotherhood, which separates us from the crowd, that builds the Ignatius Park College legacy everyday in everyone who wears blue.

It’s a privilege to be a part of this legacy, and an honour to help build it.

The College only has more to offer each year, and 2023 is certainly no exception. Whether it be our unrivalled spirit at carnivals, our endless effort to support our wider community through fundraising, volunteer programs, or the extensive range of sporting trips, the Park has something to offer everyone. We’re excited to make the most of all opportunities that come our way, and can’t wait to build more in the future.

Together with the seniors for 2023, we devised a theme that we believe will call for all members of our community to further support our brotherhood.

The 2023 College theme, “Blue and White, We Unite,” acknowledges the differences we all share, but also identifies that if we are to succeed it will be a matter of collective effort. We will find success in unity.

After five completed years at the College, the class of 2023 is moving into it’s final days and we have sworn to do all we can to maintain and support the College in all aspects. We believe that in our final year, at our home away from home, we should strive to give all we can to the place that has given us all we have and shown us all we can be.

It’s our turn to uphold Ignatius Park College, and what it means to be an Iggy man.

Given the high standards of the Ignatius Park legacy, there’s no doubt it will be a challenge.

We never shy away from a challenge.

Bring on 2023!

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
