College Captain's Welcome

College Captain's Welcome

Cooper Fletcher - College Captain

Welcome to Ignatius Park College, join us as we embark on the College’s 56th year.

It is with immense pride that I have been elected as College Captain for 2025.

It is a privilege and an honour to represent the College and to work alongside the senior 2025 cohort to uphold the values and traditions of Ignatius Park.

Ignatius Park College was founded by the Christian Brothers in the Edmund Rice tradition providing young men a liberating education, based on gospel spirituality, within an inclusive community and committed to justice and solidarity.

This year’s College theme is “Rising Always”. This theme ties to our college mascot the phoenix, an immortal eagle that rises from the ashes of its predecessor, a symbol of hope and better things to come. This theme is a goal for the young men of our college to continue to always rise and strive for success.

Ignatius Park College is no ordinary school. It is not just a place for learning. It’s a family - a home away from home. We are a community that thrives on connection and unity. The young men at our College all come from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, yet when they pull that crest over their chest they join the brotherhood and join us in all standing together under the values of IPC: Integrity, Pride, and Commitment.

As Iggy men, we will foster an environment where everyone can shine. We will encourage one another to explore our interests, embrace leadership and strive for personal growth. Through this, we will nurture and grow our inclusive community.

Ignatius Park College is a place that invests in the learning and futures of young men and this legacy will continue in 2025, making it a year that we will never forget!

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
