Senior School
Our Senior Curriculum is designed to prepare students for the next phase of their lives, whether it be in tertiary study, a trade or the workforce. Ignatius Park College offers a wide range of Queensland Studies General and Applied subjects, along with VET courses to cater for the interests and abilities of all our students.
All students in Queensland graduate under the ATAR schooling system. Results in General and Applied subjects, along with qualifications in VET courses will contribute to the award of a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), and may contribute to an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) calculation. No more than one result in an Applied subject or a VET course can be used in the calculation of a student’s ATAR.
Over Years 11 and 12, Senior students at Ignatius Park College will generally undertake subjects from the following categories:
- General Subjects
- Applied Subjects
- Vocational Education and Training (VET)
- QCAA Short Courses
Year 11 and 12 students are provided the pathway to a successful future based on their personal goals and skills. Our College provides opportunities so that boys can go on to further study at university, go on to a trade, or move directly into a career.
Students in Year 11/12 are required to choose TWO core subjects for English and Mathematics and FOUR elective subjects.

Acknowledgement of Country
The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
