Ignatius Park College sends message of support to St Thomas Canterbury College

28th March 2019

Under the Mango tree near the Ignatius Park College, a large group of students gathered to pray for our Muslim brothers and sisters affected by the ordeal in New Zealand recently. In addition, students have sent this video on behalf of our College to St Thomas Cantebury College in Christchurch, another Edmund Rice school, conveying our solidarity with their school and community.

Our touchstones call us as a community to stand up and have our voice heard, so those marginalised can too, and in living by this principle, we can help advocate and alleviate the structures and processes that disrupt peace and justice in our world.

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
