Shave for a Cure

15th March 2019

Ignatius Park students will be having their heads shorn this afternoon to raise funds for cancer research as part of World’s Greatest Shave.

Over 60 students and staff will be brave and shave today in front of an eager audience.

“The World’s Greatest Shave is more than just a fun way for the boys to engage with fundraising for a great cause. Many of our students and staff have been personally affected by cancer. The shave allows our students to do something positive to ‘fight back’ against cancer,” said Pudy Timbs, the World’s Greatest Shave Co-ordinator at Ignatius Park College.

The World’s Greatest Shave began in 1998 as a fun way to raise much needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. Currently the College has raised over $25, 000 and still counting …

The ‘Shave’ encourages people of all ages to shave, colour, or wax the hair on their head, chest or face – supported all the way by proud family, friends, colleagues and classmates.

The Ignatius Park College Community would like to humbly acknowledge the Wulgurukaba peoples on whose land our College is located, as well as the Bindal peoples on whose land many of us live and travel across daily. We respectfully thank the elders of this traditional land both past and present for guiding us through the journey of time to where we are today.
